Spotlight Projects

Supporting Missions initiatives beyond our community is important.  Spotlight Projects are exactly that — opportunities to financially support missions beyond Roscommon County, which have been endorsed by the United Methodist Church structure.  This year's projects will receive $200 each, including:

  1. UM Retirement Communities Foundation – Established in 1998 to provide Benevolent Care to seniors at this facility
  2. Oscoda Indian Mission  Supporting Native Americans in the Saginaw Bay area
  3. Anti-Trafficking  Working with those ensnared in trafficking of humans for commercial and sexual exploitation
  4. Homelessness in US  Providing start-up assistance for new and innovative church-based ministries to homeless people
  5. Grace Children's Hospital  Located in Haiti, serving children and families suffering from TB, HIV/AIDS, chronic illness, and earthquake relief
  6. Society of St. Andrew  Feeds hungry people in the US.  Good Shepherd supports their 'Pennies for Potatoes' program with donations made on fifth Sundays
