For whoever lacks these qualities (knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, affection, and love.) is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. 2 Peter 1:9 (ESV)

From culture to culture the definition of life varies but in every culture humanity has sought to figure out the meaning of life. In some cultures life has little value and some really heinous practices have evolved. And in still others there has been a deep need to develop the spiritual side of human existence.
For the Christian the real journey of life doesn't begin until Christ is part of it. You see, at some point in our lives one, or more, Christians cross our path and he, she, or they do something good for us, because of the love of Christ. And we either ask, or they volunteer the reason why they did it. This goodness was done for you in Jesus' name! Then, again, by quest or offering, the answers to the natural follow up question of just who this Jesus is are provided by means of full explanation and the process of discipleship begins. I'll tell you what the answer is... GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD He did something big!
GOD'S LOVE IS action, sacrifice AND IMMENSE generosity! Now, yes it is true that God's love comes to us by God's action, sacrifice, and generosity. But, God also includes us in the process. Jesus said, "This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you." John 15:12 (MSSG) So God has a very strong expectation of us!      ACTION: We are to "Go into the world"
SACRIFICE: We are to "teach, preach, and baptize"
GENEROSITY: We are to give time, talent, treasure and presence!
But you say, "Wait, I'm in church most Sundays, I give money to the offering, and I pray every day! That's just like going into the world and teaching, preaching and baptizing! WHEN I CAN.....There it is! It's the "When I can" that eliminates sacrifice! AND WE ARE IN DANGER OF PHARISYNDROME! And Jesus had a clear message to the Pharisees; "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!" Matthew 23:13 (NIV)
Much of this Pharisyndrome is due to the way we look at people around us... GOD HAS THE ANSWER... GOD CAN CHANGE THE WAY WE SEE people around us! So, here is the opportunity we must seize, PUT GOD's LOVE IN ACTION today and you will never be the same!

We rarely think that the bad things that happen to us are our fault. If you find your life is not what you believe it should be, it's your fault not Gods! If you find you are experiencing problem after problem and it's beginning to tear you apart, it's your fault not Gods! If you are feeling like there should be more flowing out of your life into the lives of your loved ones, friends, neighbors and all the people around you, it's your fault not Gods!
How do we know this? Simple, SOMETHING HAS BLOCKED THE LIVING WATER! Remember? Jesus said, "The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life." So we must Listen for a Change!Listen for God to direct us toward the changes that will be most beneficial for the Kingdom, and in turn for us! When we do this God unblocks our hearts and the Life Giving Water begins to flow. The result from this is a world that is changed, we overcome the tragedy, and the disasters, and God become first in our hearts, minds, and yes lives! What do you say? Let's try it, let's listen for a change!
