WOMEN OF THE BIBLE

She is clothed with strength and dignity...She speaks with wisdom.
—Proverbs 31:25-26

The mission of the Women of the Bible is “To bring the Word of God to all who will listen, through our dramatizations of women in the Bible.”

The first presentation was given at our church, Good Shepherd United Methodist church of the North, in October of 2001.  The performance touched many in the audience and the ladies were encouraged to take the program on the road.  They have done just that, giving about a dozen performances annually.

Programs are presented during the months of May and June, September and October, and portray Sarah, Rebekah, Ruth, Queen Esther, Hannah, Mary Mother of God, and Mary Magdalene.

The programs seek to present the Word of God in a way that can bridge Biblical stories to contemporary struggles.  Enacting God's Word is a unique way to breathe life into stories that might not otherwise reach some of the audience attendees.

A “love offering” is taken at the conclusion of each performance.  Proceeds are donated to ministries and organizations that support women and children.

The Women of the Bible members are honored to spread the Word of God through this ministry as a mission of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North.

The program runs about 45 minutes in length.  If you are interested in booking a program, please contact Judy English at 989-915-9133, or the Good Shepherd church office at 989-275-5577.
